ARLINGTON, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--
CACI International Inc (NYSE:CACI)
announced today it was awarded a prime contract, with a total value of
$44 million if all options are exercised, to provide logistics and
acquisition management support to the Naval Sea Systems Command’s
(NAVSEA) Program Executive Office Littoral Combat Ship (PEO LCS). This
14-month (eight-month base and two three-month options) bridge contract
represents continuing work for CACI and reinforces the company’s
presence in its Logistics and Material Readiness market area.
PEO LCS is the single program executive responsible for acquiring and
maintaining the end-to-end mission capabilities of littoral combat
ships, the Navy’s newest class of ships, which are designed for
close-to-shore operations, especially anti-access and asymmetric
threats. This includes development, procurement, deployment, and
sustainment of systems and services for the highly automated ships
themselves, and for their mission packages, which make extensive use of
unmanned maritime systems. CACI will continue supporting the littoral
mission by providing logistics and acquisition support services,
including project planning, technical analysis, and business and
financial management.
As a long-time partner to NAVSEA, CACI offers the proven combination of
programmatic knowledge, skilled acquisition professionals, and quality
products and services, coupled with a demonstrated ability to control
costs, that has been integral to the success of the LCS mission. CACI is
supporting the Navy in developing, producing, fielding, and supporting
the LCS’s mine hunting, antisubmarine warfare, and surface warfare
capabilities.
John Mengucci, CACI’s Chief Operating Officer and President of U.S.
Operations, said, “With our ongoing support of the Littoral Combat Ship
program, CACI continues to assist the Naval Sea Systems Command move
into the future with this new class of ships. Large ship programs entail
many complex challenges in the areas of logistics, operations, and
sustainment, and we have the acquisition, logistics, and operational
expertise to help the customer continue attaining all program
objectives.”
According to CACI President and Chief Executive Officer Ken Asbury,
“Combatting asymmetric threats is a clear national priority, and CACI
has responded with its work on innovative programs such as the U.S.
Navy’s Littoral Combat Ships. With our ongoing support for this program
countering asymmetric challenges close to shore, we will continue to
help provide the multi-dimensional, nuanced approaches necessary to
tackle this problem in an effective, appropriate, and timely fashion.”
