Modernizing Defense Medical Logistics System to Enhance Wounded
Warrior Support
ARLINGTON, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--
CACI International Inc (NYSE
MKT: CACI) announced today that it has been awarded a $60.9 million
prime contract by the Department of Defense to continue its support for
the Defense Medical Logistics Standard Support (DMLSS) system at the
Joint Medical Logistics Functional Development Center at Fort Detrick in
Maryland. The nearly three-year contract represents continuing work for
CACI in its Health
market area.
DMLSS delivers an automated and integrated information system with a
comprehensive range of medical materiel, equipment, war reserve
materiel, and facilities management functions that support medical
treatment facilities caring for U.S. service members worldwide and
medical units deployed during contingency operations.
The award enables CACI to broaden its support of Defense Health Agency
shared services by providing pre-planned product improvements and
modernization, lifecycle management, technical integration support, and
reengineering solutions. The company will also assist with expanding
DMLSS into the federal civilian arena, modernizing migration efforts,
and supporting ongoing system enhancements. Other initiatives include
adapting DMLSS for use by the Department of Veterans Affairs for a pilot
test and integrating it with pharmacy COTS products, enhancing customer
user interfaces, and implementing web services using mobile devices.
John
Mengucci, CACI’s Chief Operating Officer and President of U.S.
Operations, said, “This strategic win validates our continued focus on
delivering high-value solutions that our Defense Health Agency customer
needs in order to continue to provide world-class medical logistics
support around the globe.”
According to CACI President and Chief Executive Officer Ken
Asbury, “CACI’s award to continue supporting the Defense Medical
Logistics Standard Support system is very gratifying because it serves
the critical mission of assuring that medical supplies and equipment
reach their destinations, from hospitals in the U.S. to those in combat
zones. It’s one more facet of CACI’s continuing mission to support the
nation’s troops and wounded warriors.”
